TVIA (GL) – Chapter 2

The Secret History of Lily Harem (2)

Hua Diewu didn’t speak all the way. She could clearly feel the rejection of others towards her.

As a sinister, cunning, intelligent, and beautiful fox demon (fake) in the eyes of humans, Hua Diewu quickly understood the reason.

Su Luoyan’s identity is special and she usually avoids palace people when taking a bath, but she – a new palace maid – ‘served’ Su Luoyan.

The eyes of the other palace ladies were restless and wanted to climb onto the heads of the other palace maids as soon as they came up. Not to mention Wanzhu, at a glance, she knew that her status in the estate was not low and it was normal for her to show that kind of look.

When Hua Diewu thought about this, she had already followed Su Luoyan to the front hall of the Liufang palace and met Lu Zhaoyi, just as the palace maid had said.

Lu Qingrong was wearing a crescent-tailed phoenix robe with a rosy silk blouse that had a few small plates embroidered on the hem of the blouse. Lu Qingrong herself was full of flamboyant looks, and with that domineering appearance, it was even more eye-catching like a fire.

And Su Luoyan wasn’t bad at all in comparison, it can even be said that she looked even better. The reason why Su Luoyan was named Consort Li was because of her unparalleled beauty that had a cold yet beautiful appearance with a kind of willingness to care about the hustle and bustle of the world.

Even if Su Luoyan smiles, people felt that she would be difficult to approach, as if she only exists in another world.

Lu Qingrong didn’t like Su Luoyan pretending to be high-minded, so she has come to her estate and find trouble with Su Luoyan every two to three days. But her little tricks were of no use to Su Luoyan that every time she came arrogantly, she would also leave angrily.

Lu Qingrong drank the tea slowly and glanced at Su Luoyan and said, “Consort Li is really prestigious. Every time I visit, this palace would have to wait for so long.”

Obviously, the latter is a rank lower than Su Luoyan, but the tone wasn’t polite at all. This is thanks to Lu Qingrong’s family, Lu Qingrong’s father is the Zhen Guo General Lu Shang Yang, while Su Luoyan was just a small daughter of the county magistrate. In this deep palace, it could be said that she was helpless and she was able to get to this point all thanks to the emperor’s favor.

Su Luoyan picked up the teacup with a faint expression. After taking a sip, she raised her head and said, “How could there be a piece of tea leaf on Lu Zhaoyi’s teeth?”

Lu Qingrong has always been the one who loves beauty the most and she can’t herself look like a fool in front of others, especially when there are so many people here. Lu Qingrong immediately panicked and hurriedly asked someone to bring a mirror.

The entire front hall of the palace became a mess, asking each other whether they had a mirror, only to end up with no one having a mirror with them. Since they were in Su Luoyan’s palace, of course, it would be most convenient to ask Su Luoyan for a mirror.

Su Luoyan waited for Lu Qingrong to calm down a bit before speaking slowly, “Wanzhu, present the mirror.”

“Yes.” Wanzhu bowed a little and then went to fetch the mirror.

Standing in the corner, Hua Diewu was smiling the whole time. In fact, there was no tea leaf on Lu Zhaoyi’s teeth, but everyone was afraid of facing Lu Zhaoyi’s anger so no one dared to look carefully.

Lu Qingrong tightly closed her mouth while waiting for the mirror brought by Wanzhu.

When Lu Qingrong looked at the mirror, all the palace maids and eunuchs lowered their heads to their chests for fear of seeing Lu Zhaoyi’s face.

Lu Qingrong opened her mouth and looked left and right at the mirror. However, she couldn’t find the tea leaves mentioned by Su Luoyan.

Lu Qingrong angrily slapped the mirror on the table, furrowing her eyebrows while glaring at Su Luoyan.

“Su Luoyan, you actually dare to lie to me!”

Su Luoyan raised her eyelids, glanced at Lu Zhaoyi, and said, “I guess it’s because my eyes are blurry.”

“You!” Lu Zhaoyi felt that she had punched cotton, unable to get angry.

“This palace is suddenly a little tired and humbly asks Lu Qingrong to go back quickly, lest my sickness will pass to you.” Su Luoyan pretended to have a headache and pressed her forehead.

Lu Qingrong took a step back in disgust and then with a wave of her hand, she took her palace people and left confidently.

Su Luoyan placed her hand down and rubbed the teacup in her hand. Her eyes slowly fell on Hua Diewu’s body.

“You, come here.”

Hua Diewu, who had been holding in her laughter until she was about to break, was suddenly called upon and didn’t react for a moment. It wasn’t until the person beside her touched her arm, only then did she walk over towards Su Luoyan’s direction.

Su Luoyan looked at Hua Diewu with scrutiny, and after a long time, she asked with a complicated expression, “Are you really called Xiao Die?”

Hua Diewu immediately nodded, afraid that Su Luoyan would doubt her again and kill her.

“Then you will take the place of Wanzhu and serve this palace from now on.” Su Luoyan said.

Hua Diewu froze for a moment and then followed the example of those palace people and gave Su Luoyan a salute.

“Thank you, Consort Li.”

Wanzhu, who was replaced, raised her head in disbelief, “Your Majesty, Xiao Die is a palace maid who just recently entered the palace. I’m afraid that she will be clumsy when serving other people. . .”

Su Luoyan didn’t wait for Wanzhu to finish and raised her hand. Wanzhu bit her lower lip unwillingly and swallowed the rest of her words.

“That’s enough. Xiao Die, come over and serve this palace to rest.”

“Yes.”

Hua Diewu walked outside behind Su Luoyan. When she passed by Wanzhu, Hua Diewu felt that Wanzhu’s gaze would melt her.

If it were anyone else, it would be difficult for them to get a position, yet they were squeezed down by a newcomer.

But Hua Diewu will not give up this perfect opportunity to spend time with Su Luoyan. Instead of others, she should take care of herself first.

After walking out of the hallway, the sky outside was already dark. Some palace people had already lit the palace lanterns. The palace lanterns were depicting maple leaves on the promenade swayed slightly under the blowing of the night breeze. The flickering light fell on Su Luoyan’s body, making her long and thin figure even more slender.

For some reason, Hua Diewu always felt that Su Luoyan’s back looked a little sad.

Su Luoyan suddenly turned around, “Keep up.”

Only then did Hua Diewu notice that she was actually staring at Su Luoyan’s back and forgot to walk, “Yes.”

Su Luoyan is usually accustomed to no one staying by her side to serve her, and sometimes, she will not be alone. Just like today for example, after returning from her mission today, she will usually even send Wanzhu away.

But because Hua Diewu discovered her secret, Su Luoyan had no choice but to keep her. It is best to keep the person by her side.

Hua Diewu followed Su Luoyan into the inner hall. Inside the inner hall were a few fist-sized night pearls, illuminating the entire inner hall like it was daytime.

Su Luoyan took off her outer jacket and sat down on the wide bed.

“Come here.”

Hua Diewu obediently walked over. She guessed that Su Luoyan might want to give herself some kind of pill as it was written in her notebook. To make a person obedient, feed her poison. One must get the antidote every month to avoid the piercing pain. She is proficient in pharmacology and she is also a demon, a little poison won’t affect her.

Hua Diewu was not surprised when she saw Su Luoyan pouring a black from a porcelain bottle.

“Take it. It won’t kill you.” Su Luoyan spread her palms and handed them to Hua Diewu.

Hua Diewu took the pill and placed it in her mouth without any hesitation. Su Luoyan also didn’t expect that Hua Diewu would actually take the medicine without even asking a question. She didn’t have time to stop it.

Su Luoyan also didn’t know why she wanted to stop Hua Diewu, but at that moment, the beating of her heart seemed to stop.

After swallowing the medicine, Hua Diewu raised her eyes and looked at Su Luoyan. She smiled at her and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t give you any trouble.”

Su Luoyan frowned. She didn’t seem to understand Hua Diewu’s behavior.

“Why aren’t you afraid of me?” Su Luoyan had seen too many people afraid of herself.

Every one of them looked at her with such frightened eyes. They were afraid, they begged and only hoped that she would spare their lives.

But Hua Diewu was completely different. There was no hatred or fear in those clear eyes. There was even. . . a trace of pity.

Is it pity for her? Why?

Su Luoyan’s heard had too many questions.

The faint cool night breeze blew the hanging curtains, and the wind bled from the open door to the depths of the inner hall, making everything seemed to be shrouded in smoke.

Su Luoyan’s face became blurred. It still had the same face, but her expression was completely different.

Su Luoyan seemed to be very sad. Those eyes seemed to be asking her, ‘do you still remember me?’

Like a ghost, Hua Diewu uttered the words, “I never forgot about you.”

“Hm?”

Hua Diewu realized that she had said something wrong and hastily remedied the situation, “It’s nothing. Your Majesty, I’m trying to help you. I know your identity, do you want to live like this for a lifetime? Being an assassin, wandering between life and death every day.”

“So what? You can’t help me.” Su Luoyan’s face was still cold as if no matter what others said, it wouldn’t affect her.

Hua Diewu clenched her fists and smiled brightly, “Who said that? Don’t look at me like that, I’m actually quite powerful.”

Su Luoyan stared at Hua Diewu’s eyes, trying to see something different from inside her eyes. But she found that she simply couldn’t see the emotions she wanted to see in those clean eyes.

Hua Diewu is serious. Su Luoyan can tell, but she doesn’t believe that Hua Diewu can really help her. If she can really get rid of the control of Yan Fei Pavilion, She wouldn’t wait until today to still be under Yan Fei Pavilion’s control.

Su Luoyan took out another porcelain bottle from her chest and poured out a white pill.

“This is your antidote for this month. If there’s any discomfort, you must tell me. Some people have a special constitution and taking the antidote may also have a toxic attack.

“Okay.” Hua Diewu nodded her head.

“You. . . rest in the inner hall today. There’s another couch here and I will get the mattress for you.”

Hua Diewu discovered that although Su Luoyan was an assassin and was quite rude to her at first, she was unexpectedly very attentive.

Hua Diewu was soaring up in the eyes of the other palace maids. If Hua Diewu lived with them, she would be ostracized. In that case, it would be better to put Hua Diewu by her side. She also generously gave her the antidote, all of which were from Su Luoyan’s attentiveness.

Hua Diewu laid on the couch. The more she thought about it, the more she felt that Su Luoyan was not as cold as she thought.

Inexplicably, she had a good impression of the heroine she met for the first time.

Okay, this chapter was a difficult one to translate. The first one being, Lu Zhaoyi, and Lu Qingrong being the same girl, though Su Luoyan addresses her as Lu Zhaoyi, she refers to herself as Lu Qingrong.

Was confused at first but the raw is like this so yeah. . . .

It’s still the first chapters so I don’t really know what to say, but it’s kind of refreshing to learn right off the bat that our MC and FL have an explicit relationship despite all this world-hopping theme.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I did!
